Passengers with Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs

The Guide and Assistance dog must wear its harness or jacket so that the driver knows it is a Guide Dog or Assistance dog.

The dog must be trained by a recognised organisation as a Guide dog or Assistance dog. The training must include travelling on public transport.

There is no limit to the number of Guide or Assistance dogs that the bus driver can allow on a bus, as long as there is space. However, customers may only travel with one Guide or Assistance dog at a time.

The Guide or Assistance dog is the responsibility of its owner and must be kept under control, whether it is in a harness, leash or carrier.

The dog must not block the aisle or travel on a seat.
