  • Eye-catching Stripe YSTE wrapped double-decker bus at entrance.
  • 50,000 students, parents and teachers attending event 7-10 January.

Dublin Bus and Ireland’s public transport operators are connecting with the next generation of technical and scientific talent. In supporting the Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition (YSTE), Dublin Bus and CIÉ Group will be positioned as an employer of choice for future scientists and technologists.

The Stripe YSTE event in the RDS will see 50,000 attending between 7 to 10 January. It provides a direct channel to students, teachers and parents — Ireland’s future workforce and public transport users.

Dublin Bus has positioned a wrapped double-decker bus outside the entrance to the event in the RDS for the opening ceremony. The bus is wrapped in eye-catching Stripe YSTE livery, and will be operating on a daily basis throughout Dublin before, during and after the YSTE event. At the CIE & Dublin Bus stand, students can use an augmented reality game developed by Imvizar aiming to clean up Dublin’s streets by clearing the way for sustainable public transport.

Dublin Bus’s role as Ireland’s largest provider of public transport gives it a unique platform to promote skills, technology and sustainable travel. Dublin Bus carries 500,000 customers on a typical weekday, and reached a total of approximately 165 million customer journeys in 2025. This is the direct connection that allows the company to communicate with Ireland’s future scientists, engineers and highly-skilled mechanics.

Dublin Bus CEO, Billy Hann, will be presenting the CIÉ Group Award to a worthy winner at the awards ceremony. This is presented to students who demonstrate exceptional ingenuity and scientific curiosity to deepen our understanding and to develop technical solutions for tackling real world challenges and opportunities to innovation for positive impact.

Commenting at the opening ceremony, Billy Hann said ‘the Stripe YSTE event is one of the most important events in Ireland’s calendar. With over 50,000 students, parents and teachers attending the event, it gives Dublin Bus a unique opportunity to speak directly to Ireland’s future workforce and to the next generation of public transport users.’
