Introducing our fourth read for 2026: Sunburn by Chloe Michelle Howrath
Hello Book Club Members,
This month, we are thrilled to be teaming up with the Outhouse Book Club, which provides a vibrant hub for book enthusiasts of LGBTQ+ literature to connect with one another.
To celebrate Pride 2026, we will be reading 'Sunburn', a coming-of-age story that touches on themes of LGBTQ+ identity, romance, and more.
About the Author: Chloe Michelle Howrath
Howrath is an Irish novelist from West Cork whose writing captures culture, characters, and landscapes in a memorable way.
Synopsis of Sunburn
This story follows Lucy as she begins to live a double life after realising that the conventional path for a young woman in Ireland does not appeal to her.
When she discovers a spark with her school friend Susannah, she is faced with two looming choices that leave her feeling both infatuated and fearful.
This title is a gripping portrayal of growing up in a traditional small town, alongside an all-consuming first love.
