COVID-19 Information: Playing our part in reopening Dublin City (Phase 3)

Published on Monday, July 13, 2020

From 29 June, Dublin Bus will operate a Monday to Friday timetable however, there will be exceptions to some routes and Xpresso services.

We anticipate further increases in customer demand. To facilitate this, customer capacity on board will increase from 25% to 50% of normal levels from 29 June. This provides for an approximate capacity of 37 passengers per double deck bus (31 seating and 6 standing). On-board signage will be changed to reflect the updated restrictions in the coming days. We would ask customers to please bear with us in the interim and to follow all restrictions outlined on-board.

Public transport should only be used by essential workers or for other people making essential journeys. We advise customers to plan their journey in advance and travel outside peak times.

Dublin Bus will continue to be guided by the Government, HSE, Department of Health and other relevant government agencies to inform decisions. We are following all public health instructions that are issued by the Government and the Department of Health.

We are asking all our customers to please continue to carefully follow the guidelines set out by the Government and the Department of Health while travelling on our services. Customers should note that wearing a face covering is mandatory on public transport from Monday 13 July.

We all have our part to play in preventing the spread of Coronavirus. We have rolled out social distancing measures on-board and we ask all of our customers to adhere to these. We have implemented an enhanced daily cleaning regime on our fleet and this will continue for as long as necessary.

A note from our CEO Ray Coyne
