Revised Cash and Leap Fares from 1st December 2014
Revised Prepaid Tickets from 1st December 2014
Full details are available on the National Transport Authority's website.
For the best value use a Leap Card, it’s at least 20% cheaper than paying with cash and eliminates the issue of having exact change.
Leap Card Capping
Fare capping is really easy. The Leap Card system caps the use of Travel Credit, so once a customer has taken trips using their Travel Credit that add up to the equivalent to the daily or weekly cap value, they can continue to travel as normal, but no further Travel Credit will be taken from the card.
The weekly cap is measured on a calendar week, starting on Monday and finishing on Sunday. There is also a multi-operator cap if you are travelling on Dublin Bus, Luas and Dart commuter Rail. When the cap is reached customers should continue to Touch On as normal to have a valid ticket.
Airlink and Tour services do not count towards cap levels.
