We wish to advise customers that due to the Swords Summer festival, Swords Main Street will be closed to traffic from 08.00 on Saturday 23 July until 14.00 on Sunday 24 July. As a result the below diversions will be in place during these times.
In addition to the festival the Fingal 10K Road Race will take place on Sunday 24 July in Swords Main Street at 10am. To facilitate the race there will be rolling road closures and diversions in operation during the race, please check below for full details.
Saturday 22 July diversions from 08:00
Route 33 to Lower Abbey Street and 33a to Swords
Normal route to the Estuary Roundabout then continue straight onto R132 Swords Bypass, serving all stops, right at the Malahide Roundabout for the Pavilion Roundabout, left at Swords Garda Station and back on to normal route at Pinnock Hill Roundabout.
Route 33/a to Balbriggan
From the Dublin Road in Swords Village divert right onto the Malahide Road continue straight serving stop 6117 near the Pavilion Roundabout, then left on the R132 Swords Bypass to Seatown Roundabout, left onto Seatown Road, right onto North Street and back on to normal route.
Route 33b to Donabate
Depart from the terminus, turn left at Swords Garda Station to Pinnock Hill Roundabout, left on the R132 Swords Bypass to Seatown Roundabout, left onto Seatown Road, right onto North Street and back on to normal route.
Route 33b to Donabate
Normal route to the Estuary Roundabout then continue straight onto R132 Swords Bypass, serving all stops, turn right at the Malahide Roundabout for the Pavilion Roundabout terminus.
Routes 41/b to Swords
Normal route to Malahide Roundabout serving stop 6117 (Inbound Stop for the 41 route) near the Pavilion Roundabout, left onto R132 Swords Bypass), left at Seatown Roundabout continue to T junction then left onto North Street, right onto Bridge Street to Rathbeale Road and back on to normal route.
Routes 41/b to Lower Abbey Street
Normal route to Bridge street, divert left to North Street, then take next right onto Seatown Road towards Seatown Roundabout, take the third exit and continue on R132 Swords Bypass, serving stop 6117 near the Pavilion Roundabout, then back on the R132 to Malahide Roundabout and back to normal route.
Route 41c to Swords Manor
Normal route to Swords Village then turn right at Swords Garda station serving stop 6117 near the Pavilion Roundabout, left onto R132 Swords Bypass serving all stops, and first exit at Estuary Roundabout and back on to normal route.
Route 41c to Lower Abbey Street
Normal route to Balheary Road to R132 via Estuary Roundabout via Swords Bypass, serving all stops turn right at the Malahide Roundabout for the Pavilion Roundabout, turn left at Swords Garda Station to normal route onto the Forest road.
Route 43 to Swords
At Malahide Roundabout serving stop 6117 near the Pavilion Roundabout, then back on the R132 continue straight to Seatown Roundabout and take the third exit and back on to normal route.
Route 43 to Lower Abbey Street
At Seatown Roundabout take the first exit left to R132 Swords Bypass, serving all stops continue to Malahide Roundabout serving stop 6117 near the Pavilion Roundabout and back on to normal route.
Route 102 will operate normal route.
10K Road Race Diversions on Sunday 23 July
A shuttle bus will be operating from Swords Manor via Applewood, Glen Ellan Road, Rathbeale Road from 10am until 12pm during the Race.
At the Race start Gardaí will hold traffic at the Pinnock Hill Roundabout until all runners have cleared the Swords Bypass. During the above time Route 41/b & 41c will turn around at the Estuary Roundabout and terminate at stop 6359 on the Swords Bypass during the race. All routes will operate via R132 Swords Bypass set down/pick up at stop 6117 beside the Pavilion Roundabout in both directions:
North Street and Bridge Street will be closed to traffic from first bus until 14.00
Routes 41c
Normal route to Malahide Roundabout serving stop 6117 (Inbound Stop for the 41 route) near the Pavilion Roundabout, left onto R132 Swords Bypass) to the Estuary Roundabout , left onto Castlegrange Road, right onto Balheary Road and back on to normal route. Opposite on return journey.
Routes 41/b
From R132 Swords Bypass serving stop 6117 near the Pavilion Roundabout, then back on the R132 to the Estuary Roundabout , left onto Castlegrange, left onto Balheary Road at the Fire station , right onto Watery lane to T junction, right onto Rathbeale Road and back on to normal route. Opposite routing to the above on return journey.
Routes 33 and 43
Normal route to Malahide Roundabout serving stop no. 6117 (Inbound Stop for the 41 route) near the Pavilion Roundabout, left onto R132 Swords Bypass to Estuary Roundabout and back on to normal route. Opposite routing to the above on return journey.
Route 33b
Depart from the terminus, turn left at Swords Garda Station to Pinnock Hill Roundabout, left on the R132 Swords Bypass to Estuary Roundabout and back on to normal route. Opposite routing to the above on return journey.
