To improve links to local amenities for Finglas customers, we’re extending Route 40 as far as Charlestown Shopping Centre. Route 40 will now start and end its route in Charlestown Shopping Centre and continue to serve all major stops into the city centre and onwards to Liffey Valley Shopping Centre.

An improved timetable for Routes 40 and 40b

From Sunday 19 March Routes 40 and 40b will have a revised timetable which will improve service, reliability and punctuality.

From Liffey Valley/city centre to Finglas Village/Charlestown Shopping Centre

Dublin Bus are pleased to announce the introduction of two additional bus stops on St Margaret's Road, making Charlestown Shopping Centre even more accessible to the Finglas community.




From Charlestown Shopping Centre/Finglas Village towards city centre/Liffey Valley

If you previously used any of the following bus stops located on St. Margaret’s Road/ McKee Avenue to travel towards the city centre/Liffey Valley you will now find your nearest bus stop on the opposite side of the road.

Dublin Bus will also be introducing two bus stops to Route 40 located near Charlestown Shopping Centre which will serve the City Centre and Liffey Valley Shopping Centre.




All changes have been approved by the National Transport Authority
