Ghoulishly Good Times on the Dublin Ghostbus Tour

Dublin is famous for elegant Georgian squares and graceful architecture, but often behind the facades of splendour, there lurk stories of gruesome tales and ghostly happenings! For over 10 years Dublin Bus has been taking people through the mysteries of the supernatural and sometimes demonic forces that stalk the streets of Dublin city with their fiendishly fun Ghostbus.
The Ghostbus tour is an eclectic and colourful blend of comedy, history and spine chilling ghost stories. The tone of the evening is set as soon as you board the Ghost Bus, itself a unique attraction, with sinister accessories and a dark atmosphere not for the squeamish. Settle in for the evening as the resident storyteller takes you on a spellbinding trip through Dublin’s sinister past
During the tour you will learn the real origins of Dracula and his Dublin born inventor, Bram Stoker, recreate the strange activities of Dr. Clossey at the College of Physicians (whose spirit is still seen walking the corridors carrying a bucket of human entrails). Visit one of Dublin’s best kept secrets, St. Audoen’s and the Forty Steps, where you will learn about Dublin’s notorious Hellfire Club or even catch a glimpse of Darkey Kelly, a notorious 18th Century Madame whose ghost is said to wander up and down the steps!
The Ghostbus Tour was started by Dublin Bus in 1998. Tickets are priced at €25 and can be bought online, up to one hour before departure time, on www.dublinsightseeing.ie  or by calling (01) 873 4222. Anyone who books online will receive a 20% discount! This offer will run until the end of December 2009
The Ghostbus runs at 8p.m. from Monday to Thursday; on Friday at 8p.m. and 8.30p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday at 7p.m. and 9.30p.m. The tour lasts for approximately 2 hours.
