Dublin Bus Community Support Programme On the Road Again
First Stop – Liffey Valley Shopping Centre

The Dublin Bus Community Support Programme Roadshow took to the road again, today Monday, 1st March when it stopped off at the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre for the launch of the 2010 Community Support Programme (CSP). The programme’s patron Chairman of Sunderland F.C. and former Irish International Footballer, Niall Quinn, joined Dublin Bus to officially launch the 2010 programme and invited local community groups in the Dublin 22 area to pick up an application form for this year’s programme.

Now in its seventh year the Dublin Bus Community Support Programme awards grants to local charities and community groups in the Greater Dublin Area. To date over 1,000 groups and hundreds of people have benefited from the funding provided by Dublin Bus.

Niall Quinn, who has been involved with the programme since its inception, said “It’s great to be back on the road again with the Dublin Bus Community Support Programme Roadshow. The funding that Dublin Bus provides through its CSP programme is vital to local community groups especially in the current economic climate. I want to encourage every local community group in the Greater Dublin Area to visit one of the Roadshows which will take place during the month of March, pick up a 2010 application form and get your entry into Dublin Bus”.

Niall Quinn and Dublin Bus also provided information on the Community Support Programme – how to fill out the application form, the success of the programme to date, and most importantly how Dublin Bus can help local community groups.

Under the terms of the programme entrants submit a proposal with details of their organisation and the project which they wish to have funded. Each application is judged independently with grants ranging from €5,000, €2,000 and €1,000. The closing date for applications is Friday, 30th April 2010.

The Dublin Bus Community Support Programme Roadshow will be stopping off at three other shopping centres throughout Dublin during March; Thursday 11th March: Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre 8.30a.m. to 8p.m.
Thursday 18th March: Donaghmede Shopping Centre 9a.m. to 8p.m.
Thursday 25th March: The Square, Tallaght 9a.m. to 8p.m.
