Reader could not read the Smartcard, it was removed too quickly from the Smartcard reader. Please try again and hold Smartcard to target until you see a green or orange light.

Use not allowed - just validated
Smartcard has been used within the last 2 minutes. Please present Smartcard to the driver.

Use not allowed days left: 0
There are no days of travel left therefore the Smartcard is not valid. Please pay the driver or use a valid card.

Use not allowed Jnys left: 0
There are no journeys left, therefore the Smartcard is not valid. Please pay the driver or use a valid card.

Use not allowed, card expired
The Smartcard is expired. Please pay the driver or use a valid card.

Not yet valid
Smartcard is not yet in date. See validity date on front of ticket. Please pay the driver or use a valid card.

Card error, see driver
The reader failed to read the Smartcard properly or it is not a Dublin Bus Smartcard.
Please present Smartcard to the driver.

Blocked card, see driver
Smartcard is blocked for any future use and therefore not valid for travel. Please present Smartcard to the driver.

Date/time error
Smartcard is not valid as there is an incompatibility between date and time on card as against the date and time on the Smartcard reader.  Please present Smartcard to the driver.
