The National Development Plan 2007-2013 builds on the significant social and economic achievements of the NDP/CSF (2000-2006). Launched in January 2007, The National Development Plan sets out the roadmap to Ireland’s future.
The Plan is the largest and most ambitious investment programme ever proposed for
Ireland and over the next seven years proposes investment of some €184 billion.
The National Development Plan Objectives

• to foster balanced Regional Development
• to promote Social Inclusion

Infrastructure
The Plan will decisively tackle economic and social infrastructure deficits in areas such as Transport, Energy, Housing, Water, Education and Health. This will be mainly funded by a significantly enhanced 7-year Central Government Capital Envelope of almost \80 billion.
Transport
Investment in transport infrastructure over the Plan period will total nearly €33 billion of which €12.9 billion will be invested in public transport, particularly in the Greater Dublin Area.
