City Centre fare removed as part of simplified fare structure

Published on Tuesday, January 30, 2018

From Wednesday 31 January the City Centre fare will no longer be valid on Dublin Bus services. This simplified fare structure, introduced by the National Transport Authority (NTA), provides customers with an easy to understand, customer friendly public transport fare system. The discontinuation of the City Centre fare is part of the NTA’s BusConnects programme. As part of BusConnects, the Dublin Bus cash fare structure has been reduced from 8 to 3 price levels as can be seen below:

Stages Cash fare:

  • Stages 1 – 3 €2.10
  • Stages 4 – 13 €2.85
  • Over 13 Stages €3.30

The company is fully engaged with this project and is committed to promoting and protecting the interests of our customers. We want to ensure that all parts of Dublin city and the GDA enjoy a bus network that is reliable, efficient and accessible to all.  An excellent bus network is clearly of strategic importance to the city and Dublin Bus has and will continue to work closely with Dublin Chamber and other key stakeholders to future proof the city’s bus network for  the benefit of our customers and for a successful Dublin.
