Billy Hann appointed CEO of Dublin Bus

Dublin Bus, Ireland’s largest public transport provider, is pleased to announce that Mr Billy Hann has been appointed Chief Executive Officer following a comprehensive recruitment process.

Billy, a highly experienced executive, will lead the company as it continues to play a pivotal role in the economic and social development of Dublin through the transport of millions of customers to work, home, social, cultural and leisure activities every day of the year. 

Billy was appointed by the Dublin Bus Remuneration and Succession Committee and the appointment was endorsed by the Board of Dublin Bus following an open and competitive recruitment process. Billy will take up the position on 1 December 2022.

Speaking about the appointment, Mr Gary Owens, Chairman, Dublin Bus, said, “I really welcome Billy to Dublin Bus and the knowledge, experience and insight he will bring to the role and to the organisation. Billy’s considerable experience in the aviation sector, depth of international knowledge together with his strong corporate, strategic and operational expertise make him an ideal leader to deliver on the company’s strategic priorities. I look forward to working with him and am confident Billy’s leadership will ensure Dublin Bus continues to deliver on its strategic mission to deliver high quality public transport services to the people of Dublin.

On behalf of the Board of Dublin Bus, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Andrea Keane for her commitment and dedication to Dublin Bus during her term as Acting CEO. Andrea will continue as Acting CEO until Billy takes up the role on 1 December 2022.
