Closing Mass at the Phoenix Park Sunday on 26 August 2018

With large numbers of people registered to attend the closing Mass, taking place in the Phoenix Park on Sunday, 26 August, we will have the capacity to provide up to 400,000 journeys across our full fleet of 1000 buses. Up to 1,500 drivers and 100 additional support staff will be scheduled for the day.

If you have a ticket to attend the Phoenix Park event, you will be able to avail of free public transport in the Greater Dublin Area on the day of the event.  

We will run our normal scheduled Sunday service with additional departures. However diversions will be in place on these services. Details of the diversions are available here   

In addition to this, Dublin Bus will have 7 dedicated transport hubs with pick up points along the way, operating throughout the city, to bring you as close as possible to the Phoenix Park. Shuttle services from the transport hubs will commence from 08.00am and finish late at night. 

The hubs will operate from the following locations : 

• Hub 1 Clarehall Avenue, Malahide Road to Ratoath Road. Click here for detailed route map and stops.
• Hub 2 Swords Business Park to Ballyboggan Road. Click here for detailed route map and stops.
• Hub 3 Leopardstown to Cook Street. Click here for detailed route map and stops. Luas will take attendees from the park and ride at Hub 3 Leopardstown. When the park and ride is full Dublin Bus will take attendees from the overflow carpark. Dublin Bus will also pick up at stop 768 at UCD.
• Hub 4 Grange Castle to Chapelizod Bypass. Click here for detailed route map and stops.

Expect waiting times when returning to your transport hub. We will get everyone home following the event but safety is our priority.

There will be no Real Time Information available on street or on the Dublin Bus app on Saturday 25 or Sunday 26 August as major traffic diversions will be in place due to the visit of Pope Francis. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
