Dublin Bus Modern Slavery Policy

Dublin Bus has reviewed the United Kingdom’s Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the “Act”) which requires commercial organisations operating in the United Kingdom, providing goods or services and having an annual turnover above £36m to produce a statement setting out the steps they are taking to address and prevent the risk and/or occurrence of modern slavery in their operations and supply chains. 

While not subject to the requirements of the Act, Dublin Bus fully supports the aims of the act and has a zero-tolerance to modern slavery and accordingly has opted to compile a Modern Slavery Policy Statement as part of our Corporate Governance procedures.  Per the Dublin Bus Ethics Policy, the company is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all its business relationships.

Dublin Bus is committed to ensuring that there is transparency in its own business and in its approach to tackling modern slavery throughout its supply chains and expects the same high standards from all its contractors, suppliers and other business partners.

Dublin Bus has always taken pride in giving back to local communities through active and direct involvement. Dublin Bus is committed to upholding and respecting all aspects of human rights. 

As part of Dublin Bus Procurement process, all contractors are required to comply with the following section of agreements “ The Contractor shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations including without limitation, all obligations in the fields of environmental, social and labour law that apply at the place where the Goods are provided, that have been established by EU law, national law collective agreements and by international, environmental, social and labour law listed in Annex XIV of Directive 2014/25/EU, in performing its obligations under this Contract”. 

This Modern Slavery Statement will be published on the Dublin Bus website and given that this is an evolving area, the policy will be reviewed at board on an annual basis as Dublin Bus continues to work towards preventing occurrences of modern slavery both within the Company and across the company’s supply chain. Our approach to Modern Slavery risk will evolve and we will continue to mitigate this risk into the future.
